Trooper Saves Driver After Fiery Interstate 376 Crash

One state trooper is being called a hero after rescuing a driver from a flaming car. The incident occurred this past week on Interstate 376 in Findlay Township. The state trooper described driving through a construction zone when he noticed a distressed driver in the emergency pull-off area. The trooper’s statement indicates that he put on his turn signal, proceeded to move towards the pulled-over vehicle and was struck from behind by an incoming Nissan. Immediately following the collision, the Nissan became engulfed in flames. The state trooper successfully rescued the driver who was taken to the hospital. The state trooper suspects the driver was intoxicated.
