Attorney Matzus Named to Governor Shapiro’s Transition Team

Attorney Jason Matzus was pleased to be appointed to Governor Josh Shapiro’s transition team. Attorney Matzus served on the Legal and Judiciary Committee. This committee was tasked with evaluating the needs of criminal indigent defendants across the Commonwealth and making recommendations to the Governor’s office concerning how the state can support criminal indigent defense programs to fulfill its constitutional obligation to do so. Ultimately, after weeks of meetings, the committee prepared a report and submitted it to the Governor’s office based upon the committee’s research and analysis of the various issues.
Attorney Matzus Elected to Serve as an Officer of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County

Attorney Jason Matzus was recently elected to the position of Assistant Treasurer of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. Attorney Matzus has served the past 6 years as a member of the Board of Governors of the organization. As Assistant Treasurer, Attorney Matzus will fill one of the officer positions and will be responsible for monitoring and managing the finances of the Academy.
The Academy of Trial lawyers of Allegheny County is an invitation only organization that is limited to the top 250 trial lawyers in Allegheny County. The Academy fosters the development, improvement, and accomplishment of the highest quality of advocacy before our courts and is dedicated to preserving the right to trial by jury.
